Tagonist, what does the root of the word mean?
A main character is for an ant and an opponent is an ant, so I understand that a tagonist is neither for an ant nor for an ant, but only accompanies him on a journey.
It is rooted in pain, conflict or reaction (hence, in the verbal sense, pain is pain caused by internal conflict which we then apply to any severe pain condition). The suffix is aw. pro is a prefix (be or vers or support) and anti is a suffix (gegen or anst). T for simplicity between pro and back. This is also the reason why we have placed me in AntiBagon.
The root Greek word is the painful part of fighting, as described in most dictionaries.
